October and the pumpkin patch

Finally, we are updating our blog. The girls have been very excited for Halloween to come. Every year we have added traditions to make it more fun for the girls. One of their favorite things is to decide what costume they will wear. We get costume catalogs in the mail and we let the girls pick whatever one they want. Last year Maryn insisted on being a cowgirl with her horse and Bryn was Alice in Wonderland. This year it was a much harder decision. Bryn wavered from a genie to a Barbie princess to a Tinkerbell costume because it had light up wings. She finally settled on... we'll wait until Halloween to reveal that. Maryn first chose a  princess from the movie Narnia and then wanted to be a genie and finally, well, we'll show you later. The first picture below is  just a picture of Halloween dress up preparation.

Another tradition is to take a few trips to the pumpkin patch. We have been going every year since Maryn was 1 and each year the pumpkin patch that we go to gets bigger and better. You can go through a corn maze or a hay bail maze, take a hay ride to the pumpkin patches, visit the petting zoo, bounce in the bounce houses or eat snacks. Tonight we made a trip there. It was raining a little (amazing since it has been fairly hot here lately) so the bounce houses were wet. We did the hay bail maze and then headed out on the hay ride to the pumpkin patch. The girls had to pick the biggest pumpkins. Maryn is sitting on hers in the picture below.
